The Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) is responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, culturally responsive early learning programs within the Head Start Family Resource Centre. Grounded in the pedagogy of How Does Learning Happen, the RECE creates inclusive, play-based experiences that support the development, well-being, and engagement of children aged 0–6 while fostering strong, respectful relationships with families and caregivers.
Working within a family-centred, community-focused model, the RECE collaborates with team members and service providers to promote positive child development, strengthen family capacity, and enhance community connections. The role includes facilitating engaging programming, supporting parent education, and maintaining safe, welcoming, and culturally reflective learning environments rooted in Oneida values.
The RECE upholds the standards of the College of Early Childhood Educators and relevant legislation, while contributing to a supportive, inclusive, and responsive early years program that meets the diverse needs of children, families, and the broader community.
