Nurse Educator

Description
Georgetown University Berkley School of Nursing (BSON) is seeking an innovative and experienced educator to lead the PMHNP Post-graduate Certificate Program. The PMHNP educator will serve as specialty track Director and will be responsible for the oversight, management, implementation and quality of the PMHNP track of the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Program and will report directly to the Assistant Dean for APRN Programs.
The PMHNP director oversees the team to carry out all matters relating to the curriculum, course development, course delivery, course quality and evaluation (including course and faculty evaluation). The PMHNP faculty will work collaboratively with the other specialty track faculty in all matters of curriculum, including clinical placement oversight. This faculty position is held on the Clinical Educator Track (non-tenure) in the School of Nursing at Associate or Full Professor rank with scholarship, teaching and service expectations. Time commitments are:
- Teaching: 40-50% (8-9 credits)
- Student clinical oversight, including placement: 40%
- Scholarship: 5-10%
- Service: 5-10%
- Terminal degree (research focused, practice focused e.g., DNP, PhD, EdD)
- Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Eligibility for an unencumbered RN license in the District of Columbia
- Minimum of 3-5 years progressive leadership or administrative experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels
- Prior experience with curriculum development, evaluation, and outcomes
- Experience in developing course content and teaching in a variety of learning formats (face-to-face, hybrid, online)
- Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills
- Demonstrated contributions in teaching, scholarship and service consistent with an appointment on the educator track at the rank of Associate Professor or above on the non-tenure line
- Applicants eligible for hire must hold primary residence in an approved state.
- Additional certifications (e.g., Family Nurse Practitioner, Emergency Nurse Practitioner, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, Informatics)
- Expertise in a variety of teaching modalities including face-to-face, virtual learning, asynchronous and synchronous learning
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development and outcome evaluation
- Management, planning and coordination of all aspects of program operations including oversight of clinical education and placement.
- Ensuring integration of BSON values including antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Coordination and implementation of the curriculum to reflect current practice guidelines.
- Ensures accreditation requirements are met and annual outcome reports are submitted.
- Oversees the program evaluation plan.
- Monitors and reports program outcomes, i.e., retention/graduation rates, certification rates, and employment rates.
- Selection, supervision, evaluation and fostering professional development of program faculty.
- Collaboration with faculty and staff colleagues, as well as leadership to ensure outstanding program graduates and effective planning and implementation of future initiatives.
- Enhancement of the program’s reputation and visibility through engagement in relevant professional activities.
- Teaches in area of expertise as needed
- Participates in curriculum and course development
- Develops and implements innovative teaching strategies
- Engagement in scholarly activities such as research, publications and grant writing.
- Participating in program, school, university, and other committees as required.
- Participating in all relevant program and BSON student events as required.
- Didactic and clinical instruction within areas of expertise (including entry level, graduate-level core, and specialty courses) across multiple teaching modalities.
