Oxford Learning Brampton Ebenezer is currently seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors for high school students. The role is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping students build their skills in these areas.
Tutor‑teachers at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre‑planned. Applicants receive full training in our proprietary philosophy and methods.
Position Requirements- All Teacher‑Tutors work during after‑school and evening hours Mon/Wed and/or Tue/Thur (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm). A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better.
- This role is in‑person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position.
- You must be able to complete an English and Mathematics assessment, be eligible to work in Canada, and provide a clear police record check with vulnerable sector screening if selected.
- Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
- Teaching certification an asset.
- Good knowledge of the current Grades 1‑12 math curriculum, particularly senior math and including, but not limited to, advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and vectors.
- Some experience teaching/tutoring mathematics at a Grade 9‑12 (or equivalent) level.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.
- Teach up to 3 students at a time at different levels.
- Teach both online and in‑person sessions.
- Follow the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Fill in post‑lesson notes.
- Complete daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.
