Toromont Cat Power Systems is looking for a Generator/Diesel Engine Technician to join our growing team! The EGS Field Technicians are responsible for supporting our customers with superior service and product expertise to safely and effectively diagnose and repair Caterpillar Power Systems in a timely manner while maintain high standards and ensuring positive customer experiences.

Demonstrate safe and environmentally sound work behaviors at all times in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policy, Programs and initiativesPrepare new and used products including gensets, industrial engines, marine engines, controls and other auxiliary equipment, such as Automatic Transfer Switches, Switchgear and Uninterruptible Power Supplies modified to customer’s specificationsConduct pre-job hazard assessments and mechanical repairs on engines and generators in the shopPerform basic troubleshooting for all equipment and provide recommendations on repairs and upgradesUse electrical and mechanical testing and calibrating equipment to diagnose and service equipmentInterpret electrical and mechanical schematics and wiring diagramsSubmit accurate and detailed service reports, time cards and other required paperwork in a timely mannerOperate and connect load banks in a test environment and perform engine overhaulsMust-haves for this role:
Post Secondary education in a field related to motive power, diesel engines, electro-mechanics, truck and coach mechanics, industrial mechanics or equivalentMinimum 3 years professional experience in the servicing and repair of generators/gensets, heavy engines, diesel engines or equivalent heavy equipmentAbout Toromont Cat Power Systems
