Our client is a leader in highly regulated, advanced technology programs supporting aerospace, space, and defense applications. Operating in a controlled environment, the organization manages complex technical data, hardware, and software subject to Canadian and U.S. export regulations.
The Export Control Specialist plays a critical role in enabling programs to move forward while ensuring full compliance with export control, security, and regulatory requirements. This is a hands‑on, highly trusted role supporting engineering, program management, security, and operations teams across multiple projects.
Responsibilities- Manage and support export permits, licenses, and authorizations under Canadian and U.S. export regulations
- Ensure compliance with ITAR, EAR, Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and applicable Canadian export legislation
- Review technical data, hardware, software, and end‑use/end‑user information for compliance
- Support internal access controls for controlled goods and controlled technical data
Partner closely with engineering, program management, security, and operations teams - Maintain export control documentation, records, and reporting requirements
- Identify export compliance risks and recommend practical mitigation strategies
Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on export control requirements - Act as a point of contact for export control matters and regulatory inquiries
- Permanent, full‑time position
- Located in Brampton, ON (open to other Ontario office locations – on‑site)
- Day shift, Monday to Friday
- Competitive salary: $75,000 – $105,000 annually
- Stable role within a regulated, high‑technology environment
- Direct involvement in complex, high‑impact programs
- Exposure to cross‑functional teams including engineering, program management, and security
- Clear ownership and accountability within the export compliance function
- Experience in export control, trade compliance, or regulatory compliance within a regulated industry
- Working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and the Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
- Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, or program teams
- Strong understanding of controlled technical data and access control requirements
- Ability to interpret regulations and apply them in real operational environments
- Strong attention to detail and sound judgment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills
- Ability to work on‑site in a collaborative environment
- Successful candidates must be able to obtain and maintain Secret‑level security clearance
