Senior HVAC Specialist

Elevate your career with the City of Brampton as a Senior HVAC Specialist. Focus on complex building inspections and HVAC compliance in a full-time role within the Planning, Building & Growth Management department.

In this pivotal position, you will report directly to the Supervisor of Inspections and review mechanical HVAC components for compliance with the Ontario Building Code. Your expertise will serve as a technical resource for plans examiners, designers, and contractors, fostering mentorship and ensuring high standards in large building projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review HVAC plans for compliance with building codes

• Conduct inspections of complex buildings

• Advise on technical issues for designs and construction

• Issue compliance and stop work orders as needed

• Prepare documentation and court materials as required

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in engineering or architecture

• 4-8 years of relevant regulatory experience

• Successful completion of provincial qualification exams

• Valid Ontario Class G driver’s License

• Strong communication and leadership skills
