Condition survey and assessment of structural components and waterproofing of parking structures, balcony decks and other concrete elements in existing buildings.
Preparation of specifications and drawings for rehabilitation projects.
Review of submittals, shop drawings, substitution requests and requests for information from the contractor.
Attendance of meetings with the Architects, Clients, Contractors and Trades.
Review of mock-up and standard of installation reviews.
Report writing and review of reports from field reviewers.
Design review related to waterproofing and concrete elements of the architectural drawings and specifications for new construction projects.
Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior staff.
Conduct construction contract administration and construction review services during the repairs.
Project management to ensure the deliverables and tasks are conducted within budget, in schedule, and of quality and per the established standards.
Conduct periodic invoicing and collect accounts receivable in time.
Conduct business development propagating the services and preparing engineering fee proposals.
Liaison with Clients, building strong client relationships, and generating new business.
Ensure health and safety policies are adhered to at all sites and report to Manager and Joint Health and Safety Committee Members.
What your experience looks like
5+ years of technical experience in building science and/or structural rehabilitation with a proven ability to manage projects and help facilitate business development.
University degree in a related field of study, such as Civil Engineering, Structural, Architecture, or Building Science.
P. Eng. designation in ON is required.
In depth knowledge of concrete structural elements and waterproofing membrane systems.
Knowledge of various building envelope systems and assemblies is an asset.
In-depth knowledge of standards and guidelines related to parking structures/balcony systems and assemblies.
Experience in restoration projects.
Experience in new construction projects is an asset.
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required for site visits.
Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with clients and co-workers.
Ability to work effectively in a high-demand and fast-paced environment.
An excellent team builder with the ability to motivate people.
Leadership skills are an asset.
The base salary range for this role is between $85k to $110k . The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
