We are supporting the search for a Modelling Actuary to join a growing actuarial team focused on pricing, valuation, and financial risk modelling. This role sits at the intersection of actuarial methodology, financial reporting, and model governance, working closely with actuarial, finance, and technology stakeholders.

The position offers exposure to complex modelling frameworks, regulatory reporting, and transformation initiatives across insurance and reinsurance portfolios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance actuarial pricing and valuation models across products and regions
  • Support financial reporting and regulatory requirements (e.g. IFRS 17, LDTI, GAAP, Solvency frameworks)
  • Perform actuarial analyses including liability valuation, assumption setting, experience analysis, and scenario testing
  • Ensure robust model governance, including documentation, validation, controls, and audit readiness
  • Collaborate with IT and data teams on model infrastructure, automation, and system enhancements
  • Contribute to model modernisation, migration, and implementation initiatives
  • Promote consistent modelling standards, methodologies, and best practices across teams
  • Present modelling insights and recommendations to actuarial and non-actuarial stakeholders in a clear manner
  • Support and mentor junior actuaries and modellers as needed
Skills & Experience
  • Qualified Actuary or near-qualified (ACAS / FCAS / ASA / FSA / FCIA or equivalent)
  • Solid experience in actuarial modelling within pricing, valuation, or financial reporting
  • Hands-on experience with actuarial modelling tools (e.g. AXIS or similar platforms)
  • Strong understanding of insurance or reinsurance products
  • Experience with IFRS 17 and/or other financial reporting regimes is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in analytical tools such as Excel, R, Python, SQL, VBA (or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail with a control-focused, process-driven mindset
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a project-based environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
