Emergency Management Officer

Position: Emergency Management Officer Akwesasne
Become an Emergency Management Officer on a full-time basis in Akwesasne. This pivotal role involves supporting and guiding emergency management activities with direct involvement in training and hazards response.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Emergency Measures Officer will play a key role in assisting with emergency plans and training stakeholders. You'll be responsible for coordinating the Emergency Operations Center and acting as the MCA representative during emergencies. This position demands a commitment to 24-hour on-call readiness, providing essential support during crisis events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop templates for emergency measures plans

• Lead hazardous materials response initiatives

• Coordinate and deliver emergency management training

• Manage operations at the Emergency Operations Center

• Act as the MCA representative on all emergencies

Requirements:

• 2-Year Emergency Management Degree and 5 years of experience

• OR an equivalent 2-Year Degree with 7 years of experience

• Certification as an Emergency Management trainer

• Clear CPIC required

• Must have a Canadian Social Insurance number

Lead emergency management efforts with sound guidance and impactful training.
