Emergency Measures Officer

Position: Akwesasne Emergency Measures Officer
Take on a critical role as the Emergency Measures Officer in Akwesasne. This full-time position focuses on coordinating emergency management activities and delivering vital training in crisis preparedness.

As part of the emergency management team, you will work directly under the Executive Director, ensuring the development and execution of effective emergency plans. The role includes responding to hazardous materials incidents and managing the Emergency Operations Center. With this 24-hour on-call position, you will act as a first point of contact for emergencies, providing essential support to Chief and Council.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create emergency measures plan templates

• Direct lead on hazardous materials responses

• Schedule and deliver emergency training sessions

• Oversee the Emergency Operations Center management

• Represent MCA on emergency management issues

Requirements:

• 2-Year Emergency Management Degree with 5 years of experience

• OR 2-Year Degree in a related field with 7 years of experience

• Certification as a trained instructor

• Must pass a criminal record check

• Canadian Social Insurance number is mandatory
