Location: Halton Hills
Reporting to the Community Development Supervisor – Community Partnerships and Sport Development, this position serves as the Town's lead for community partnerships, social infrastructure, and community well-being initiatives. The position advances strategic priorities that strengthen community capacity and quality of life through collaborative partnerships, coordinated community responses, and the development of policies, programs, and initiatives that support Corporate and Community Services objectives.
The position develops and maintains relationships with Town departments, Halton Region, community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, and other stakeholders to address emerging community needs, including homelessness and encampments, while strengthening community resilience and social infrastructure.
- Serves as the Town's liaison to community organizations, Community Safety and Well-Being Action Tables, educational institutions, businesses, and regional networks, building collaborative relationships while identifying emerging community needs, service gaps, and partnership opportunities.
- Maintains the Community Group Registry and administers the Community Group Affiliation Policy, ensuring accurate records and consistent application of policy requirements.
- Administers the Town's Community Grant Programs, including application review, program administration, and funding oversight.
- Develops, reviews, and administers community agreements, policies, procedures, and guidelines that support community development initiatives.
- Supports community organizations through capacity-building initiatives, leadership development, guidance, and resource navigation that strengthen organizational resilience and connect groups with appropriate municipal and community resources.
- Coordinates community recognition initiatives that celebrate community contributions and encourage civic engagement.
- Coordinates and supports the Town's response to homelessness-related matters, including encampments and the presence of unhoused individuals within Town-owned facilities, parks, and public spaces.
- Serves as the Town's lead liaison with internal departments, Halton Region, community organizations, outreach providers, housing agencies, health services, businesses, and other stakeholders to coordinate partnerships, collaborative planning, information sharing, and integrated service delivery.
- Leads the development and implementation of policies, protocols, procedures, operational guidelines, and staff training that support coordinated municipal responses to homelessness, encampments, and emerging community well-being issues while ensuring legislative compliance and continuous improvement.
- Maintains current knowledge of legislation, funding opportunities, community development practices, and emerging sector trends to support continuous improvement and evidence-informed decision-making.
Experience:
- Two-year college diploma in Recreation, Community Development, Public Administration, Human Services, or a related field.
- Experience in
