Job description
This position will report to the Manager, Professional Practitioner.
Accountabilities:
Provide quality occupational therapy services within a client-centred frameworkDetermine the physical, perceptual, cognitive and functional status of patients through administration of formal and informal assessments; plan and implement interventions to enhance overall functioning; and make recommendations regarding level of support required upon dischargeProvide education to the patients, their families, students and interdisciplinary members and participate in interdisciplinary rounds, meetings, committees and quality initiatives in the program and occupational therapy team as neededPractice in accordance with the standards of professional practice and code of ethics as outlined by the COTOJob qualifications
BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy or equivalentRegistered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of OntarioMembership in CAOT or OSOT preferredFluent in English (reading, writing, speaking and comprehension)Recent experience in adult physical medicineBasic knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice related to general medicine and rehab clientsExperience with psychosocial, cognitive, perceptual and physical health related assessment and intervention skills addressing occupational performanceDemonstrated ability to manage high caseload volumesAbility to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with excellent time management and organizational skills requiredExcellent communication and interpersonal skills requiredGood critical thinking and problem-solving skills requiredMust demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and CollaborationExcellent attendance, punctuality, and work recordMay be required to travel between and work at all Osler sitesAdditional information
Hours:
Currently days/evenings, 8 hours including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)
