Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly organized and compassionate Medical Assistant / Receptionist to serve as a front-line representative of our clinic. This individual will play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations while delivering exceptional patient care in a supportive and often emotionally sensitive environment.
The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, empathetic, and able to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced medical setting.
Key Responsibilities- Greet and assist patients in a warm and professional manner
- Manage incoming calls and schedule appointments efficiently
- Utilize Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems daily
- Triage emails and track patient referrals
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records
- Assist physicians during clinic procedures
- Prepare and maintain medical supplies and inventory
- Take patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, BMI, urine testing)
- Ensure clinic cleanliness and compliance with health and safety standards
- Coordinate medical office services including equipment and waste disposal
- Collaborate with team members to ensure optimal patient experience
- Completion of Medical Office Administration program or relevant experience preferred
- 1–2 years of customer service experience required
- Previous experience in medical or clinic setting preferred
- Knowledge of EMR systems (Accuro an asset)
- Familiarity with OHIP billing an asset
- Phlebotomy certification an asset
- Strong typing skills and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Compassionate, patient-focused, and able to handle emotionally sensitive situations
- Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM
- Saturday morning shifts as needed
- Willingness to travel between Oakville and Georgetown locations preferred
