Professor, Diagnostic Imaging Technology Program; Part-Time
Sheridan is looking for outstanding individuals to join our faculty team in the Diagnostic Imaging Technology program. This Advanced Diploma program is the second of its kind in Ontario to offer specialized training in MRI, ultrasound or X-ray/CT. The School of Applied Health seeks part-time professors to teach lectures and/or labs within the Diagnostic Imaging Technology program. Sheridan is also looking for qualified candidates to support in the laboratory environment as Imaging Laboratory Assistants.
Sheridan professors are responsible for developing an effective learning environment for students while respecting their diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences, and individual learning styles.
What You’ll Be Doing- Delivering course curriculum in the classroom and/or online according to evidence and theory-based teaching and learning principles and in accordance with Sheridan Policies and Procedures;
- Engaging students in meaningful and student-centered academic experiences, while evaluating student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the students’ work within assigned courses;
- Tutoring and academic counselling of students, while evaluating student progress/achievement and assuming responsibility for the overall assessment of the students’ work within assigned courses;
- Attending periodic faculty meetings;
- Performing other related duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will also meet the following qualifications:
- Licensed Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologist (MRIT), Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT), or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (DMS) in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) or equivalent regulatory body in another jurisdiction.
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Imaging Sciences, Pathology, Health Sciences, or a closely related discipline (equivalent combination of education and extensive professional experience to be considered).
- Completion of Advanced Diploma in Medical Radiation Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or other imaging specialty from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years recent, relevant clinical practice in the field of specialization.
- Demonstrated recent direct clinical practice in the field of specialization to support current, evidence-informed clinical teaching and practice
- Previous teaching experience at the post-secondary or clinical level (lecture, lab, or clinical supervision) considered an asset.
- Experience with curriculum development, assessment, and integration of competency-based education is an asset.
- Formal studies in adult or higher education would be an asset, such as a Bachelor or Master of Education.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and maintaining current knowledge of the field.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with educational technologies and simulation-based learning.
- Proficiency in computer software packages such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to convey the conceptual and applied aspects of knowledge to a broad range of students.
