Reporting to the Manager, the Team Lead - Clinical Laboratory Assistant is responsible for monitoring the day-to-day operations of the Clinical Laboratory Assistant and Laboratory Assistant teams, which includes the organization of the daily work in a safe environment, coaching and training of the staff, as well as taking appropriate actions to maintain a continuous workflow on shift.

How YOU will make a difference:

Oversee daily team operations, ensuring timely task completion and addressing common problems.

Follow up on anomalies and non-conformities in collaboration with the various Dynacare departments and implement corrective actions, where necessary.

Participate in the optimization of operational processes and the implementation of new services.

Manage inventory and supplies.

Serve as a technical resource for the Clinical Laboratory Assistants and Laboratory Assistant teams.

Responsible for preparing and submitting end of shift reports to the manager.

Support staff bench reassignments and resource allocations as needed.

Assist in coordinating and supporting training activities.

Maintain adherence to all quality standards and existing procedures.

Coordinate with the logistics and pathologists’ teams.

Communicate with vendors to address instrument downtime and coordinate service.

Notify the manager of any immediate concerns.

All other CLA tasks as needed.

Any other responsibility assigned by the Manager or designate.

What YOU bring to the role:

College or university degree in a relevant field, or certified MLA

3 years of histology experience

Knowledge of ISO / GLP standards an asset

Knowledge of WHIMIS and TDG an asset

Computer skills

Autonomous, responsible, sense of organization and planning

Strong communication skills and effective teamwork skills

Ability to manage priorities

Ability to work in a changing and constantly evolving environment

Working Conditions:

Normal laboratory environment

Required to lift a maximum of 30 pounds

Shift work which can include day, evening and weekends dependent on operational needs

Availability to work overtime as needed

Pay rate: $28.00-$30.50 per hour
The hiring pay range has been established; however, the final pay offer will be determined by taking into consideration various factors including but not limited to, level of experience and education requirements.
