IT Help Desk
Scarborough ON
Purpose
Reporting to the Director, Information Technology, the IT Help Desk Technician is responsible for managing workstations, applications and ensuring IT helpdesk tickets are addressed within the defined Service Level expectations. He/she will also be responsible for delivery of assigned projects from time to time.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the day-to-day delivery of support to the organization and act as the first point of contact on the IT Help DeskCommunicating electronically (and in-person) with desktop/laptop users experiencing technical difficulties by troubleshooting and documenting problemsEnsure suitable and effective end-user training is established and maintained at all locationsSetting up and deploying IT equipment for new employeesAddressing and resolving incoming tickets from users regarding hardware, software and network issuesAdminister various IT systems including Exchange, Active Directory, Anti-virus, Remote Desktop, Print, Office 365Ensure outsourced, hosted and/or managed solution providers adhere to agreed performance standards and policies by providing oversight and controlsMaintain IT asset inventory for laptops/desktopsProvide suggestions for improvement based on discoveries made with a view to reducing recurring faults or improving the service provisionStay informed on new and emerging trends and technologiesOther duties as required.
Skills, Experience and Education:
Postsecondary education in technology related field1-3 years of relevant work experienceProficient in helpdesk ticketing softwareStrong skills in management of Active Directory, Exchange and Office 365Proficiency in Microsoft Operating SystemsWorking knowledge of Voice platforms (VoIP, PBX, Contact centres)Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn new toolsTime management skills to handle multiple priorities effectivelyStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsGood written and verbal communication skills and able to communicate effectively over various mediums while maintaining IT department’s commitment to customer excellence.Excellent work ethic and communicating with colleagues in a clear and professional mannerProficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and Access)Interested candidates are welcome to submit their application directly to this posting.
