Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Transmit Security Engineer with expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM). The role involves implementing and managing authentication flows, federated identity solutions, and integrating SSO/MFA into web and mobile applications while ensuring alignment with zero trust and compliance standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesImplement and manage authentication and identity flows using the Transmit Security platform.
Design and configure federated identity solutions using SAML, OpenID Connect, and OAuth 2.0 protocols.
Collaborate with application and security teams to integrate SSO and MFA
.Work with development teams to embed identity flows via APIs and SDKs into web and mobile applications.
Develop custom logic and flows using Transmit orchestration tools to handle user journeys and risk-based authentication
.Ensure identity systems comply with zero trust architecture, least privilege, GDPR, HIPAA
, and other regulatory standards.Troubleshoot authentication and authorization issues; support incident resolution and root cause analysis.
Conduct regular reviews of identity architecture, policies, and integrations to maintain security posture.
Document IAM configurations, integration guides, and support procedures

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity
, or related field.3+ years of hands-on experience in Identity & Access Management (IAM) or related security engineering roles.
Hands-on experience with Transmit Security platform (or comparable CIAM platforms like Okta, Forge Rock, Ping Identity).
Strong knowledge of OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, SAML 2.0, JWT
, API security, token-based authentication, and session management.Experience integrating IAM with web, mobile, REST APIs
, and enterprise systems.Familiarity with Transmit orchestration flows, identity APIs, and no-code/low-code platforms
.Understanding of risk-based authentication, passwordless strategies, device fingerprinting, and behavioral analytics
.Knowledge of directory services (LDAP, AD, Azure AD) and cloud identity providers.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CIAM, or Security/IAM certifications
.Experience with
Dev Sec Ops practices and IAM monitoring tools

Skills:
• Work with project teams throughout the organization to design, implement, and manage CDN infrastructure using Akamai, to ensure high availability, performance, and scalability for customer facing applications and business processes.
• Handle multiple priorities and assignments with excellence and precision.
• Be a part of a 24/7/365 organization (some after hours support is expected as part of normal on-call rotation).
• Directly support line of business development teams, provide guidance to them on implementation and changes for customer facing applications
• Develop and maintain security protocols and measures to protect CDN infrastructure from cyber threats.
• Monitor and analyze network performance, identifying and resolving issues to optimize content delivery of critical applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Akamai CDN solutions with existing systems and applications.
• Collaborate with information security teams to implement DDoS protection strategies and other security measures in the CDN.
• Provide technical support and guidance to clients and internal teams regarding CDN and security best practices.
• Work closely with vendor and professional service teams on delivery related activities and strategy.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. OR similar work experience.
• Strong understanding of network protocols (HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TCP/IP).
• Proven experience as a CDN Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on cybersecurity.
• In-depth knowledge of Content Delivery Network technologies, including caching, load balancing, and content optimization.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience supporting 24/7/365 customer facing applications at enterprise scale.
• Awareness and experience with cybersecurity tools and practices, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash) a plus.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH) are a plus but not required.
