Role Overview
The Data Lead is responsible for data conversion, extraction, transformation, validation, and sign off activities for payroll and time & attendance (WFM) systems. This role requires a highly organized, detail driven professional who can coordinate across divisions, resolve data issues, and deliver accurate, production ready data to Dayforce (or equivalent systems).
Key Responsibilities
Lead data extraction from legacy systems and validate divisional data requirements.
Build and execute data transformation logic for Dayforce load templates.
Review and sign off on payroll and WFM data mappings and functional documents.
Triage and resolve data errors; coordinate with divisions to correct source data.
Ensure divisions update Workday and other source systems on schedule.
Collaborate with leads on conversion strategy.
Provide status updates, elevate risks, and maintain audit ready documentation.
Must Have Qualifications
Strong functional knowledge of payroll data and processes.
Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, pivots, Power Query preferred).
Experience with data extraction, transformation, and validation for payroll/WFM.
Strong organizational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Nice to Have
Experience with Dayforce load templates and validation.
Familiarity with Workday HR master data.
Experience gathering requirements for payroll/WFM implementations.
Background in large, multi division data conversion projects.
Measures of Success
On time delivery of all data milestones.
Data accuracy meeting project thresholds.
Clean, complete data across all divisions.
Timely resolution of data issues and triage tickets.
Full sign off from divisional and project stakeholders.
