Overview   Strategic Sourcing Manager – MRO & Indirect Categories  at Bluewater Hayes Inc. Our client is seeking a driven  Strategic Sourcing Manager  to lead our MRO and Indirect Category sourcing strategy. This role will manage a small, focused team — including a Buyer — to deliver value through strategic supplier relationships, effective contract negotiations, and continuous improvement in procurement processes.

You will be responsible for the full sourcing lifecycle for Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) and other indirect spend categories, ensuring cost efficiency, supplier performance, and alignment with business objectives. This is a high-visibility role that partners closely with internal stakeholders and plays a key part in operational excellence.
Base pay range  $/yr - $/yr
Responsibilities   Develop, implement, and manage sourcing strategies for MRO and indirect category spend.
Lead and mentor a Buyer to ensure optimal purchasing performance.
Conduct supplier market analysis, evaluation, and selection to meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and terms with suppliers.
Manage ongoing supplier relationships, including performance reviews and corrective action plans.
Collaborate with internal teams to forecast needs, reduce total cost of ownership, and mitigate supply chain risks.
Identify and execute opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications   Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
7+ years of procurement/sourcing experience, with a focus on MRO and indirect categories.
Proven ability to lead small teams and deliver measurable sourcing results.
Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship skills.
Solid understanding of sourcing best practices, supplier evaluation, and market analysis.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
