The Oceans Logistics Co-Ordinator is responsible for effectively coordinating integrated logistics operations for the organization. Key responsibilities will include preparing initial documentation regarding planning stages, reviewing contract plans and the processing of reports based on their findings. This role will involve collecting and analyzing relevant information regarding performance metrics. Additionally, the coordinator ensures that all activities are well-coordinated and that company resources are used efficiently

Compensation

$55,000.00 - $65,000.00

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and monitor day-to-day integrated logistics operations:
  • Prepare and execute freight negotiations with carriers to secure optimal rates and services.

    Monitor freight costs, detention, demurrage, and storage charges, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Coordinate all modes of logistics, including rail, barge, road, and ocean
  • Prepare customs documentations and ensure compliance with customs regulations, import laws, and company policies.
  • Perform administrative duties, such as answering phones and managing filing systems.
  • Liaise with external transportation contractors to ensure seamless operations.
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal departments, including Logistics, Finance, Procurement, Sales, and Operations.
  • Collects and analyzes relevant performance metrics, coordinates activities, and ensures efficient use of company resources:
  • Develop reports that detail transportation costs for specific projects and movements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Conducts material control coordination, and data entry to assist various supply activities.
  • Supports the maintenance of logistics policies, procedures, support plans, and related documentation.
  • Assists in maintaining logistics planning tasks to ensure smooth operations.
  • Reviews and analyzes program effectiveness, suggesting and executing timely improvements and corrective actions.
  • Coordinates property accountability and addresses maintenance issues.
  • Provides advice and recommends pertinent accountability procedures and policies, addressing discrepancies and divergences from regulations.
  • Establishes and maintains optimal inventory levels for consumables.
  • Develop schedules and reports and conduct regular inventories of supplies and property.
  • Administers and implements the inventory management program.
  • Regularly updates work priorities and fulfilling routine tasks assigned by the supervisor.
