This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional with strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills who can help keep production equipment running safely and efficiently in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
This is a night shift position.
Key Responsibilities Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on food processing and packaging equipment, including mixers, ovens, conveyors, pumps, kettles, and related machinery.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues to minimize production downtime.
Respond quickly to emergency breakdowns and complete repairs while ensuring food safety requirements are maintained.
Perform timely repairs and adjustments to keep production running efficiently.
Maintain and repair facility utility systems, including boilers, refrigeration systems, air compressors, and water systems .
Ensure maintenance activities and equipment comply with GMP, HACCP, SQF, food safety, and company quality standards .
Assist with equipment changeovers, calibrations, and adjustments to support production schedules.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and documentation of all work completed.
Support plant safety programs by maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
Work closely with production supervisors and operators to troubleshoot issues and improve equipment performance.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, efficiency, and downtime reduction.
Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment and production lines.
Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), WHMIS , and all applicable safety procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications Previous experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, Industrial Mechanic, or similar maintenance role , preferably within a food manufacturing or production environment.
Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems .
Experience with PLCs, sensors, motors, pumps, and conveyor systems is an asset.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals .
Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, WHMIS, SQF, and food safety requirements .
Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Good command of the English language , both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and respond effectively to equipment breakdowns and production emergencies.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, 24/7 food production environment .
Willingness to work night shifts, weekends, rotating schedules, and overtime as required .
