Country Marketing Lead – Canada

Position Overview
The Country Marketing Lead, Canada is accountable for driving profitable growth and managing the Canadian P&L while serving as a key member of the Canadian Leadership Team. This role owns the localization and execution of global brand strategies, ensuring they resonate with Canadian consumers, customers, and retailers while delivering both short- and long-term business results.
Leveraging deep knowledge of the Canadian market, this leader will elevate go-to-market execution, maximize the performance of existing portfolios, and develop business plans that adapt global brand direction to local needs. The role leads a cross-functional team spanning country marketing, activation, category development, and customer strategic planning, working in close partnership with Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, and Global Marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing, Brand & Activation
Act as the Canadian steward for Global Brand Strategies, ensuring strong local relevance and disciplined execution.
Translate global brand direction into country-level category, customer, and activation plans.
Champion the Canadian consumer experience by driving data-led decisions across SKU portfolio, pricing, innovation, and activation.
Partner with global teams to contribute Canadian insights into the 3-year brand strategy, product funnel, pricing, and promotional approach.
Lead the development and execution of local marketing activations across social, paid media, and customer channels, maximizing ROI.
Own the development and execution of local product/category strategies and launch plans, including distribution priorities and pricing recommendations.
Own the Canadian segment P&L, sharing accountability with Canadian Leadership peers across Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, and Direct teams.
Deliver monthly and annual volume, net revenue, and margin targets.
Lead financial forecasting, including Financial LE, production forecasting, and performance tracking.
Proactively identify risks and opportunities, implementing corrective actions to ensure financial targets are achieved.
Category Development & Market Leadership
Develop and publish an annual Canadian Category 101, forming the foundation of a 3-year customer and category growth strategy.
Elevate category leadership through compelling category selling stories and strategic recommendations for Line Reviews, JBPs, and Top-to-Top engagements.
Maintain deep expertise in the competitive landscape across retail environments and channels.
Produce actionable insights that influence cross-functional decision-making and strategic direction.
Monitor multi-channel purchasing behaviors and channel-shift trends (e.g., in-store to online, online to store) to inform strategy.
Customer & Channel Strategic Planning
Develop deep understanding of customer, channel, and shopper dynamics across assigned categories and retailers.
Own local assortment strategies that drive investment decisions, activation plans, topline growth, margin, and market share.
Embed an omni-channel approach into all go-to-market plans, ensuring alignment across in-store and .ca execution.
Partner cross-functionally to ensure pricing and promotional strategies are consistently implemented and governed in-market.
Build and deliver annual strategic growth plans by customer and channel, tracking performance and adjusting plans as needed.
People & Cross-Functional Leadership
Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing, cross-functional marketing and category team.
Influence and collaborate effectively across Canada and the U.S., working with senior stakeholders at all levels.
Foster strong relationships with Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, and Global Marketing partners.
Build a culture of accountability, insight-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required;
Marketing, Advertising, or Business Administration preferred. MBA strongly preferred.
