Post-Anesthetic Care Unit Registered Nurse

Provide post-anesthetic nursing care at William Osler Health System using patient assessment, monitoring, and emergency response skills. Work across scheduled shifts and night call.

This Registered Nurse position serves patients within Osler’s post-anesthetic care setting. The work includes nursing assessment, care planning, implementation, evaluation, and patient-centred safety. You will also use hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator support experience, health teaching, and infection prevention practices. The assignment lasts approximately twelve months or until the previous incumbent returns.

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Monitor observations and follow associated policies
• Recognize health changes and respond to emergencies
• Provide compassionate, culturally responsive patient care
• Deliver discharge instructions and health teaching

• Two years’ recent post-anesthesia, emergency, or critical care experience
• Experience with ventilator support and hemodynamic monitoring
• Critical Care certificate and current Ontario nursing registration
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required
• Excellent physical assessment and decision-making skills
