Position: Quality Assurance Person (QAP)

White Ash Group has been engaged by a fully licensed Cannabis cultivation, processing, and consumer packaged goods company to recruit their next QAP.

  • Act as the designated QAP per the Cannabis Act & Regulations (Parts 5 & 6 GPP/GDP), approving all SOPs, batch records, sanitation logs, equipment qualifications, and lot release decisions.
  • Supervise quality oversight across cultivation, harvesting, processing, packaging, labelling, and shipping activities.
  • Conduct and lead internal audits, CAPA initiatives, deviation investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Manage product release and ensure compliance with GPP/GMP standards.
  • Investigate and resolve product complaints, adverse events, and recall actions.
  • Oversee vendor and supplier qualification, environmental monitoring, and pest control programs.
  • Draft and update SOPs, specifications, and Master Batch Records.
  • Train and mentor staff in SOPs, Quality Management System (QMS), regulatory compliance, and data integrity practices.
  • Support and liaise during Health Canada and CRA inspections and third‑party audits.
Qualifications &

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Life Sciences, Agriculture, Microbiology, Food Science, or equivalent.
  • 5–10 years in QA/QC roles within cannabis, pharmaceutical, food, or agriculture sectors; supervisory/management experience is a plus.
  • 2–5+ years as a QAP or equivalent QA leadership role in a Licensed Producer (LP) environment.
  • In‑depth knowledge of Cannabis Act & Regulations (SOR/) and GPP/GMP/HACCP/ISO frameworks.
  • Strong skills in auditing, deviation investigation, CAPA, vendor qualification, and release protocols.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Assets:
  • Current Health Canada QAP or A/QAP approval
  • Experience in cultivation-focused operations, covering environmental monitoring, fertigation, IPM, and harvest practices.
  • Background in pharmacy, food, or agri processing with GMP audit or implementation expertise.
  • Prior involvement in annual reporting (ASR) and managing regulatory inspections.
Other Requirements:
  • Must hold Health Canada Security Clearance.
  • Full‑time, on‑site work with the ability to stay late or work after‑hours during key events, audits, or product release cycles.
