This position is part of a unionized bargaining unit. The hourly wage for this position starts at $16.60 - $16.70 and is established in accordance with the collective agreement. Depending on a candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, education, and prior experience, a higher hourly wage may be offered. Any hourly wage offered for this role, whether starting or higher, will fall within the wage scale established for this position in accordance with the collective agreement.

This is a posting for an existing permanent part-time position.

As a Grocery Clerk, you will support all areas of the Grocery Department, including Grocery, Dairy, and Bakery. • Unload deliveries and organize products in the backroom or cooler.
• Restock shelves, coolers, and displays in the Grocery, Dairy, Frozen and Bakery departments, ensuring products are placed in the correct locations.
• Rotate stock within the Grocery, Dairy, Frozen, and Bakery departments using the first-in, first-out method.
• Keep aisles, shelves, coolers, displays, and the overall store clean and tidy.
• Sweep and mop floors as needed.
• Handle spills promptly and ensure the store is safe for customers.
• Help customers find specific products or answer questions about items.
• Provide recommendations and offer assistance with shopping needs.
• Occasionallyassistwith helping customers put groceries into their vehicle.
• Conduct periodic inventory counts and ensure accuracy.
• Report any discrepancies or damaged items to supervisors.
• Occasionally receive product and ensure the invoice is accurate.
• Set up andmaintainpromotional displays and end caps in the Grocery, Dairy, Frozen and Bakery departments.
• Ensure that displays are visually appealing and well-organized.
• Update signage and price tags as needed.
• Perform price checks for customers and fellow employees.
• Ensure that all products have the correct price tags and labels.
• Perform duties across all areas of the Grocery Department, including Grocery, Dairy, Frozen and Bakery.
• Assist with gathering shopping carts or baskets and putting them away when needed.
• Assist with tasks or projects as assigned by management.
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Use equipment and tools safely and properly.
• Report any safety concerns or incidents to management.

• Customer service driven.
• Able to stock merchandise and create displays.
• Good product knowledge and attention to detail.
• Able to lift upto 50 pounds.
• Retail experience is considered an asset.
• Able to stand for extended periods of time and work under minimal supervision.
• Comfortable working across multiple areas of the Grocery Department, including Grocery, Dairy, and Bakery.
• Must be available to work flexible shifts which may include nights,weekends and holidays.
