Addictions Support Worker at CMHA Peel Dufferin

Become an Addictions Support Worker with Canadian Mental Health Association Peel Dufferin in Brampton. Engage with the community by providing critical addiction services and client support within HART Hub's integrated care model.

In this permanent full-time role, you will work rotating 12-hour shifts, assisting individuals facing addiction and housing challenges. Your responsibilities include conducting comprehensive addiction assessments, case management, and group facilitation aimed at client recovery. This position contributes to community well-being by addressing mental health and addiction needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive addiction assessments and risk evaluations

• Provide individual counseling and short-term supports

• Facilitate recovery and social-recreational groups

• Assess risk regularly and implement crisis intervention

• Connect clients to community resources for support

Requirements:

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field

• Minimum 2 years of experience in mental health/addictions

• Knowledge of harm reduction and trauma-informed care

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Valid Canadian driver’s license and police check required
