• Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
• Address customers' complaints or concerns.
• Mountain driving expertise.
• Professionalism in customer service.
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• Load and unload goods.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
• Perform brake adjustments.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle operation.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.
• Transport and handle dangerous goods.

• AZ class license.
• Air brakes endorsement.
• Documentation knowledge (bill of lading).
• Dangerous goods occurrence reports.
• Driver logbook, inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip) and trip reports.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Tractor‑trailer experience (Transportation/travel experience—international, local, long-haul, national, provincial/territorial, regional, short-haul).
• Physical and mental capabilities: attention to detail, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, sitting for long periods.
• Personal suitability: flexibility, organized, reliable, team player, hardworking, patient.
