Shipping and Receiving Coordinator
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Coordinator to join our logistics team in Brampton, ON . In this role, you will be responsible for managing the daily flow of incoming and outgoing materials, ensuring accuracy in inventory records, and maintaining a streamlined warehouse workflow. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses strong communication skills, and is dedicated to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Inbound Logistics: Verify and uncover incoming shipments against bills of lading, invoices, or packing slips to ensure accuracy; inspect items for damages or defects.
Outbound Logistics: Prepare, pack, and label materials securely for shipment in accordance with company standards and carrier requirements.
Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain all required shipping/receiving documentation, customs paperwork (if applicable), and system entries.
Inventory Management: Track and log inventory movements using warehouse management systems (WMS); participate in routine cycle counts and stock reconciliation.
Equipment Operation: Safely operate material handling equipment (such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks) to load, unload, and move stock.
Collaboration:
Coordinate closely with procurement, production, and external logistics partners to resolve shipping discrepancies or delays promptly.
Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, adhering strictly to occupational health and safety guidelines.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience:
2+ years of experience in a shipping, receiving, or warehouse coordination role.
Certifications:
Valid Forklift Certification (e.g., Counterbalance, Reach) is highly preferred.
Technical
Skills:
Proficiency with inventory management software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and remain on your feet for extended periods.
Soft Skills:
Strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; specialized training in logistics or supply chain management is an asset.
