Position: Office administrator/ secretary

Location

Carberry Mb ( 3.5 miles southwest of the town )

Hours

Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM (1-hour lunch break) 35 hours a week

(Hours could be flexible to accommodate someone with children and needs with daycare.)

Full time start date

January 5th. (We would prefer to have 2-3 training days before the new year if applicant is available to do so to familiarize them with the business.)

About Us

We are a custom trucking company that hauls bulk potatoes for McCain Foods in Portage and Carberry. We have over 40 tractor trailer units as well as operate our own shop for fleet maintenance. We offer a friendly, small town work atmosphere! We also have a 250 cow/ calf operation and do other small custom jobs with different trailers other than potatoes!

Position Overview

We're looking for a motivated, organized and friendly person to handle the day-to-day administrative operations of our busy trucking company. This role involves a variety of responsibilities from answering phones to dealing with staff and customer needs as well as daily data entry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answer and direct phone calls in a professional and friendly manner
  • Daily organization and load entries of all loads hauled into excel
  • Daily printing and stocking of all driver and shop staff paperwork
  • Entering employee hours daily into excel
  • Helping drivers and shop staff with all needs and concerns
  • Work with McCain office staff for all issues and discrepancies with loads
  • Assist with billing and payroll as needed
  • Look after all Insurance and mpi fleet needs
  • Look after all new and existing employee documents
  • Ordering of any office supplies needed
  • Pay bills as needed
  • Pick up and send out any incoming and outgoing mail
  • Drop off load slips to the growers as requested
  • Be a friendly first face to all who arrive at our office building
Qualifications
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written
  • Previous experience in an office, secretary or administrative setting
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • A valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle

Wage- to be discussed in interview

Full-time, steady daytime hours (Monday to Friday)
