Location: Virden, Manitoba - Primarily Field-Based (Travel Required Across MB & SK)

About the Role

As the Construction Foreman for our Drill Crew, you’ll take charge on-site—leading by example, assigning tasks, and ensuring that work is done safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard. Your leadership will directly contribute to the successful installation of fiber‑optic infrastructure across Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate day‑to‑day construction site operations
  • Plan daily tasks including materials, equipment, and manpower
  • Coach and support operators and labourers in best practices and safety
  • Lead daily toolbox talks and communicate safety memos
  • Complete safety documentation, maintain locates, and submit reports
  • Maintain crew vehicles and equipment
  • Ensure crews are organized and meeting daily targets using Hydrovac trucks, drills, hoes, and clean‑up teams
  • Report any incidents or workflow changes to the Superintendent
What You Bring to the Team
  • Proven field construction experience (required)
  • Experience with utility locates and underground construction practices
  • Supervisory experience and/or telecom industry knowledge (assets)
  • Effective communication skills – verbal and written
  • Heavy equipment experience (an asset; training available for the right candidate)
  • Valid Class 1 or 3 driver’s licence (required)
Physical and Travel Requirements
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs and work on your feet for long periods
  • Willingness to travel Monday–Friday across MB & SK
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
