The Department of English, Drama and Creative Writing invites applications for a 12-month term position. The successful candidate will teach the following courses:
30.147 Literary Traditions (two sections)
20/30.373 Medieval Drama
30.380 Geoffrey Chaucer:
The Resurgence of English
30.463 Themes in Medieval Literature
The successful candidate will join a department with supportive colleagues that are actively working towards equity, diversity, inclusion, and decolonization in their research and teaching programs. Willingness to participate collegially in service to the department, university, and the community that it serves will be expected.
Qualifications
:
The essential qualification is a PhD in English Literature with a specialization in the medieval period or a PhD in a related / interdisciplinary field. ABD applicants nearing completion prior to the start date of the appointment may be considered. Applicants may seek to establish an experiential/traditional equivalency to the Doctorate degree and are invited to contact the Office of the Dean of Arts on how to establish equivalent academic or professional credentials.
Applicants must demonstrate teaching competence and expertise in the field and must have an active research agenda.
Experience with theatre and/or drama would be considered an asset.
