Reporting to the General Manager, the Finance Administrator is responsible for payroll processing, bookkeeping functions, benefits administration, and maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with legislative and organizational requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and in compliance with CRA, WCB, and applicable employment legislation
- Maintain employee payroll records, including earnings, deductions, benefits, and leave tracking
- Administer employee group benefits and GRSP contributions, including enrollments, changes, and terminations
- Prepare and submit payroll remittances, ROEs, T4s, and other required year-end documentation
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and internal management reports
- Prepare financial claims and required documentation within established deadlines
- Support annual budget preparation, expense tracking, and cost projections
- Maintain compliance with legislative, regulatory, and confidentiality requirements
- Assist with audit preparation and provide financial documentation as required
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll and benefits
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and administrative efficiency
- Provide ongoing financial and operational support to management
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and payroll legislation
- Accounting and bookkeeping experience
- Payroll and bookkeeping experience required
- Experience with Quick Books is considered a strong asset
- Proficiency with accounting, payroll, and MS Office software
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
