Take the lead as a By-Law Compliance Specialist with the City of Brandon. This full-time role involves legislative research, by-law drafting, and compliance coordination for municipal regulations.
The City of Brandon seeks a detail-oriented By-Law Compliance Specialist with 3-5 years of experience in legal services or municipal governance. You will play a critical role in ensuring by-laws are legally sound and operationally effective, while supporting various City departments with compliance and policy implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead by-law administration and compliance processes
• Draft and review municipal by-laws with stakeholders
• Conduct legislative research and jurisdictional comparisons
• Serve as Screening Officer for by-law penalty appeals
• Provide guidance and support to City enforcement staff
Requirements:
• Grade 12, G.E.D. or Mature High School Diploma
• Post-secondary degree in Legal Studies or similar
• Minimum 3-5 years of related experience
• Valid Class 5 Manitoba driver’s license
• Experience in municipal governance preferred
