More than one (1) position may be filled.
This is a full-time, indefinite term of 40 hours per week. Should the incumbent not return to the position, this term may become permanent. It will be offered in accordance with conditions identified in the Collective Agreement between the City of Brandon and CUPE Local 69. First consideration will be given to current City of Brandon CUPE employees. The City of Brandon reserves the right to underfill this position.
The successful applicant must maintain legal eligibility to work in Canada. If the applicant possesses a work permit, it is their responsibility to ensure the permit remains valid.

Rate of Pay: $23.47 - $25.25 per hour - 2026 rates.

This competition will include testing and an interview.
PURPOSE OF POSITIONTo provide routine manual work in cleaning the interior and exterior of City of Brandon Transit buses and the care and maintenance of tools and equipment necessary to perform the assigned duties.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- General upkeep of transit facilities and equipment.
- Clean interior of buses using brooms, mops, vacuums, cloths and all other necessary equipment; remove paper, dirt and dust from interior and wipe passenger seats, driver compartment, visors, windows and interior walls.
- Clean and wash exterior of buses using automated bus wash system, high pressure washer, wash brush, cloth etc.; clean exterior walls, windows, windshields, driver mirrors and wheel wells.
- Drive buses in and out of the Civic Services Complex; replace hoses and cleaning equipment, wash garage floor with hose and clear dirt from floor; keep a list of buses cleaned and duties performed for each bus.
- Notify supervisor of repair needs and requirements for cleaning materials and supplies.
- Fuel buses as required.
- Maintain and fill equipment fluid such as DEF and window washer.
- Be comfortable with Transit technology, including electronic farebox.

- Must hold and maintain a valid Class 5 with air Province of Manitoba Driver's licence or obtain within three (3) months of appointment.
- Possess sufficient experience to have demonstrated the ability to perform the position tasks satisfactorily.
The Bus Cleaner works independently and in a team environment.
- Work in a shared and consultative manner with other employees (daily).
- Self‑motivated and quality driven to perform independent duties and facilitate team goals (daily).
- Necessary to work in all types of weather conditions (daily).
- Must be available to work varying shifts (days/evenings).
- Responsible to the Manager of Transit Services.
