Position: Resident Care Manager (RCM) - Part Time (PT) - Hillcrest Place

Job Description:

This position is located in Brandon, Manitoba. Reporting to the Director of Care, the Resident Care Manager (RCM) is a highly skilled leader who contributes to Extendicare’s purpose of Helping People Live Better by supporting and leading a high‑performing team dedicated to delivering safe, high‑quality, and compassionate care to all residents. The RCM will engage with residents and families, promote a customer‑service philosophy, and continuously improve resident satisfaction to meet our mission of providing care wherever people call home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage — oversee assigned program areas, implementing programs per Extendicare’s Model of Care.
  • Identify — risk and mitigation strategies, escalating and managing as appropriate.
  • Comply — monitor and ensure compliance with all regulations, licensing, accreditation, and labor standards.
  • Collabora Te — actively participate with the Director of Care and interdisciplinary team to optimize resident care.
  • Quality — lead development, implementation, and oversight of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Community Partnership — engage vendors and community health partners for resident care improvement.
  • Cultivate — mentor and develop team members, identifying skill gaps and providing coaching.
  • Values Alignment — uphold and promote the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Values concerning Ethics, Morality, and Integrity.
  • Customer Service — accept and respond to feedback with acknowledgement and empathy.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years as a Registered Nurse in long‑term care.
  • At least 1 year of managerial or supervisory experience in a health care setting.
  • Current and unrestricted registration/licensing as a Registered Nurse.
  • Bachelor of Nursing preferred or Post‑secondary Diploma in Nursing.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with EHR systems, specifically Point Click Care and Point of Care.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Track record of leading quality improvement initiatives with positive resident outcomes.
  • Team‑building and time‑management abilities.
  • Strong clinical skills.
  • Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
  • Experience managing under a collective agreement in a unionized environment.
