Become a Part Time RPN/LPN at Extendicare, dedicated to high-quality nursing in long-term care settings. Provide essential nursing assessments and ensure adherence to care standards in various community home environments.
Extendicare is looking for a Registered Practical Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to enhance our nursing team. This role will involve assessing the needs of residents, developing care plans, and monitoring overall health, all while maintaining established nursing principles. Prior experience in a managerial role within home care is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
• Adhere to nursing standards and physicians' orders during patient care
• Monitor vital signs and document relevant health information
• Assist with the assessment and planning of patient care
• Implement physician’s orders and report on health status changes
• Ensure infection control protocols are followed
Requirements:
• Current nursing certificate from approved regulatory bodies
• Registration eligible with provincial standards
• Previous experience in long-term or home care settings
• Skills in handling cognitively impaired patients
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
