You will engage in detailed research activities, including mining GAIA data and evaluating distances to stars in star-forming nebulae. Work with archival data in infrared and radio wavelengths, while calculating upper-limit distances. Additionally, your involvement will push forward a publication aimed for peer-review in a scientific journal.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze GAIA observational results
• Work with infrared and radio-wavelength archival data
• Calculate distances to nebulae
• Compare distance data from different sets
• Contribute to writing a peer-reviewed publication
Requirements:
• Demonstrated success in 2nd year Physics courses
• Stellar & Galactic Astrophysics background (plus)
• Excel proficiency for data analysis
• Good communication ability
• A clear passion for astronomy
