Downtown Ambassador, Social Work

The Brandon Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation (BNRC) is looking for five downtown champions to join our team in the capacity of:

Rosser & Around Downtown Ambassadors

The BNRC promotes a vibrant, healthy, sustainable community neighbourhood of empowered stakeholders, successful community projects and partnering organizations.

Under the direction of the Community Development Coordinator, the Ambassadors? role is to support community engagement, economic development, social planning and community safety in the downtown area. The goal is to be a welcoming presence and help create a connected and safe downtown that is full of energy for those living, working and visiting.

• Walk extensively outdoors within the target area.
• Host various small activities, gatherings workshops within the downtown.
• Maintain Incredible Edible Garden Planters and support beautification as a whole.
• Greet and assist with way finding/general information for downtown visitors.
• Engage with and promote business and service agencies in the downtown.
• Create content for and maintain social media presence.
• Act as eyes on the street and report to appropriate agencies.
• Record and report on daily activities.
• Other Duties as Assigned.

• Ability to get current and Clear Criminal Records Check & Child Abuse Registry Check
• Access to a cell phone is preferred.
• Must be between 15 and 29 years old.
• One of the four positions are for Red River Metis full-time students in current academic year and returning as a full-time student in the upcoming year ? please indicate when applying.
