Make a difference in the community as an Employment and Income Assistance Counsellor with the Manitoba government in Brandon. This full-time role demands strong communication and empathy to assist clients effectively.
You will serve as an advocate for financial assistance, focusing on individuals facing barriers like mental illness, disabilities, and employment challenges. Collaboration with families and maintaining a respectful, adaptable approach will be paramount.
Your role will also include managing a high-volume caseload while ensuring that applicable legislation and policies promote equity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist Manitobans with financial and other support services
• Engage with participants and external resources effectively
• Conduct assessments to understand specific needs
• Ensure compliance with government policies and procedures
• Facilitate access to workforce participation
Requirements:
• Social services education or equivalent experience required
• Experience dealing with multiple barriers in clients
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience in a team-oriented environment
• Familiarity with MS Office tools
