Intake Support Worker at Samaritan House

Join Samaritan House Ministries as a Casual Intake Support Worker at our Safe and Warm Shelter in Brandon. Assist guests, provide resources, and foster a supportive atmosphere during morning shifts from 6:00 am to 10:00 am.

As a Casual Intake Support Worker, you will directly impact vulnerable populations by maintaining a safe and encouraging environment.

Your role involves assisting guests in personal goal attainment and connecting them with necessary programs and referrals. Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create a safe and positive atmosphere for guests

• Provide support and resources for shelter guests

• Assist guests in accessing programs and referrals

• Keep the shelter clean and sanitized

• Maintain intake forms and record data accurately

Requirements:

• 1-3 years experience with at-risk populations

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Compassionate, non-judgmental demeanor required

• Valid criminal record check, first aid, CPR, and NVCI

• Team player with flexibility to respond to needs
