Casual Shelter Intake Worker

Samaritan House Ministries is searching for a Casual Shelter Intake Support Worker for our Safe and Warm Shelter in Brandon. Work morning shifts to provide essential support and resources for guests.

In your role as a Shelter Intake Support Worker, you will help create a welcoming environment for vulnerable populations. Your responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness, assisting guests with referrals, and enabling them to achieve their daily living and social skills. This position requires strong communication and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe, encouraging atmosphere for guests

• Assist guests in accessing support programs

• Clean and sanitize all shelter areas

• Record accurate data and complete paperwork

• Offer help to assistants as needed

Requirements:

• 1-3 years experience supporting at-risk individuals

• Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities

• Non-judgmental, culturally aware approach

• Current first aid, CPR, NVCI, and criminal record check

• Flexibility to support team needs and tasks
