Support vulnerable individuals at Life's Journey Inc. as an Overnight Drop-In Support Mentor in Brandon, MB. This role is critical for enhancing the well-being of participants in the Overnight Warming Shelter.
The Overnight Drop-In Support Mentor plays a vital role in ensuring participants receive the care and oversight they need during shelter hours. This includes direct engagement, crisis management, and collaboration with fellow staff members to maintain program standards. Strong guidance and accountability are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver direct assistance to shelter users
• Build rapport through supportive interactions
• Monitor safety protocols continuously
• Engage with collateral agencies professionally
• Document all significant incidents accurately
Requirements:
• Clear Child and Adult Abuse Registry check
• First Aid Level 1 – Emergency & CPR certified
• Strong relationship-building capabilities
• Preferred background in social services
• Experience working with at-risk populations
