Settlement Facilitator - Part Time

Reporting to the Settlement & Integration Manager, a Settlement Facilitator is responsible for ensuring quality service in settlement and orientation services to clients.

• Provide settlement assistance to individuals and families i.e. orientation, information, referrals, connect with community etc.
• Facilitate information sessions for individual and client groups
• Maintain up to date knowledge of programs and services available at WIS and in the community to support clients to allow appropriate referrals
• Develop partnerships with service providers to effectively link clients with appropriate community services
• Manage a caseload of clients with diverse needs
• Stay informed on current resources, trends, changes and services gaps in the community
• Consider complexity of cases and individual workload to determine assignments
• Empower clients to become self-sufficient and respect professional boundaries
• Maintain accurate records of services and provide reporting to management as required
• Create an inspiring, engaging and collaborative atmosphere within teams and other WIS departments to achieve collective goals and deliver quality service to clients
• Engage in professional development activities to remain current in the field
• Provide management with operational support as required

• Ability to manage client caseloads and maintain confidentiality
• Working knowledge of community resources
• Ability to work with various levels of government
• Self starter able to work independently and as part of a team
• Creative thinking and excellent interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and database management
• Strong proficiency and ability to communicate in English
• Possess a valid Manitoba Driver's Licence and access to reliable transportation
• First Aid Certification
• Provide a clear Criminal Record, Child Abuse Registry Check, Adult Abuse Registry Check, Vulnerable Sector Check and Driver Abstract; where required
• Ability to work collaboratively with management, employees, and community stakeholders in a diverse environment
