Drop Box Attendant – Independent Contractor – Brandon, MB Job Overview
This is an interview position. The employee will assist management in overseeing daily sort, delivery/pickup activities and remote domicile location/feeder Ops (where applicable). They lead the sector as assigned ensuring best practices and effective operations and model the way for hourly employees by becoming a mentor and demonstrating role‑model behaviour including strong communication, conflict resolution and leadership ability (through Best Practices methods).
Key Responsibilities- Lead assigned sector and ensure best practices and effective operations.
- Model leadership through mentorship and strong communication, conflict resolution, and leadership ability.
- Oversee daily sort, delivery/pickup activities and remote domicile location/feeder Ops (where applicable).
- Maintain high standards of safety and compliance during all operational activities.
- High school diploma/equivalent.
- 2 years of current courier experience.
- Must possess a valid driver’s licence and have a good driving record.
- Ability to successfully complete all basic and re‑certification training (including DG specialist certification) and maintain accreditation through yearly recurrency training prior to expiration.
- Remain current with training in BP and defensive driver/process updates.
- Good understanding of Fed Ex products, features of service, and general operations.
- Ability to lift 70 lbs and to maneuver any package weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment.
- Some knowledge of Federal Express operations and Canadian Customs regulations is an asset.
- Solid communication/interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, coach and train employees on the job.
- Ability to prioritize and delegate in a time‑sensitive manner.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, customer relations and communication skills.
- Good analytical, problem‑solving, prioritization and organization skills.
- Team player.
- Minimum of one (1) year of current Courier experience.
- Bilingual in French and English for Quebec residents.
- Valid driver’s licence (class 5, G or 1[AZ]) with no more than two infractions or accidents in the last 24 months.
