Northrok Construction Ltd - Railway Division is hiring Experienced Equipment Operators

Position Overview

Northrok Construction Ltd. is currently seeking experienced Railway Equipment Operators to support ongoing rail construction and maintenance projects. The successful candidates will be responsible for safely operating specialized railway and heavy equipment while working as part of a skilled track and construction crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate railway and heavy construction equipment, including but not limited to excavators, loaders, tie inserters, ballast regulators, tampers, and hi-rail vehicles
  • Perform daily pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance checks
  • Follow all company, site‑specific, and railway safety regulations
  • Coordinate with supervisors, track workers, and other operators to complete work efficiently
  • Ensure equipment is operated within manufacturer and railway guidelines
  • Assist with general track and construction activities as required
  • Maintain accurate equipment logs and inspection records
Requirements
  • Previous experience operating railway or heavy construction equipment
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and safe work practices
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to work away from home for extended periods of time
  • Physically capable of working long hours and performing repetitive tasks
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Willingness to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and overtime
Assets (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Valid railway certifications or operator qualifications
  • Hi‑rail experience and certification
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Mechanical aptitude or equipment maintenance experience
  • Experience working on active rail lines or possession of railway rules training
