Class 1 Company Driver | Regional Livestock Hauling

Looking for more than just driving?

If you enjoy getting out of the cab, staying active and having variety in your day, livestock hauling could be a great fit.

No livestock experience? That's okay! We're looking for safe, dependable drivers who are comfortable with physical work and willing to learn. We'll teach you the livestock side.

What We Offer:

  • Starting average of $75,000?$80,000 (based on actual Company Driver earnings)
  • Pay structure is mileage plus extras for trailer tasks
  • Training period paid at full rates
  • Opportunity to earn more with experience and efficiency
  • Minimum bi-weekly pay agreement for the first 6 months
  • Quarterly safe driving bonus starting after 6 months, increasing with seniority
  • Health, dental and vision benefits after 3 months

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Regional driving, primarily in Manitoba and the Prairies
  • Hauling primarily pigs, some work with cattle, bison and sheep
  • Loading and unloading livestock
  • Working with trailer gates, ramps and decks
  • Preparing trailers with bedding/shavings
  • Working outside year-round
  • Driving rural and gravel roads
  • Working independently and problem-solving as your day changes

What You Should Know:

  • This is a physical, hands‑on role
  • You'll work directly with livestock
  • Start times will vary
  • Plans can change based on livestock, farms, weather and customer needs
  • You'll spend some nights away from home
  • Regional work means more nights at home than traditional long haul, but this is not a home‑every‑night position. Depending on workload and season, you may spend 2-4 nights/week in the truck.

What We're Looking For

  • Valid Class 1 License
  • Comfortable with physical work and around animals
  • Willing to learn
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Able to meet applicable drug and alcohol testing requirements

Applicants must already be legally authorized to work in Canada. Steve's Livestock is not currently able to provide LMIA or RCIP support for this position.
