Class 101 is a national college planning franchise whose mission is to provide students and families with expert guidance in the college search, admissions, and financial aid process. As dedicated college advisors, we recommend potential colleges fitting clients’ factors and budgets while assisting in identifying a career path that aligns with their abilities and interests. We support them in the steps necessary to achieve those goals in the most cost-effective manner possible.

We are seeking college planners at our office—someone who will work collaboratively with a team to provide direct college planning to students through individual meetings. The ideal candidate is self‑motivated, dedicated to the needs of his or her clients, and willing to learn and execute a proven system for delivering college planning.

Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver effective meetings with students to educate and empower them on how to navigate the college process using the Class 101 curriculum.
  • Encourage, motivate, and keep students on track as they progress through the college admissions process.
  • Serve as an instructor for group prep classes, delivered using Class 101’s curriculum.
  • Gain expertise in all Class 101 curricula and our approach to helping students and families including:
    • Identifying student goals for college and career.
    • Understanding family college budget requirements.
    • Counseling students and families to identify resources for scholarships and financial aid.
    • Providing expertise for developing college lists.
    • Providing regular meeting summaries.
    • Serving as a reliable, knowledgeable source for students and families.
    • Maintaining and growing knowledge of colleges most reviewed by students in your area.
    • Meeting deadlines for submitting applications.
    • Developing and interpreting summary reports on students’ progress on standardized tests.
    • Guiding students through the essay writing process to create and refine main, supplemental, honors, and scholarship essays.
  • Increase client base through the delivery of sales presentations to potential students and families. Meet and maintain monthly and quarterly goals.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The most successful candidate will possess
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of high school or college counseling and/or college admissions experience.
  • Sophisticated and current understanding of the college admissions and financial aid processes.
  • Excellent counseling, writing, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Keenness and skill for working with adolescents and their families across wide‑ranging perspectives and priorities.
  • Ability to work afternoons, nights, and weekends to meet the needs of students.
