Paramedic PRN - Ambulance Services

Job Summary

The Paramedic responds to medical emergencies and provides advanced critical care during transport to the hospital. As the first healthcare provider on scene, the Paramedic partners with firefighters and police in evaluating the situation, offers basic and advanced lifesaving support, administers treatments, and directs EMTs in delivering patient care consistent with training and level of certification.

• Respond to EMS Call‑Center requests, prioritize patient care, coordinate with other healthcare providers, and facilitate transport appropriately.
• Operate emergency medical vehicle and respond to calls for aid in emergent situations.
• Evaluate patient condition to establish the right course of treatment and provide a variety of emergency medical treatment to injured, sick, or incapacitated persons.
• Perform invasive procedures under adverse conditions and manage non‑medical situations such as crowd control and protecting the valuables of a patient if necessary.
• Lift and transport patients, ensuring patients remain stable during transport.
• Communicate patient data and condition to professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facility.

• Associate’s Degree in Emergency Medical Services/Paramedic or completion certificate in Emergency Medical Services (EMT/Paramedic) required.
• Current State of Florida Paramedic License required.
• American Heart Association ACL, BLS, PALS required.
• EVOC‑Emergency Vehicle Operations Course completion certificate or equivalent required.
• FEMA‑100, 200, 700, 800 preferred.
• ITLS‑International Trauma Life Support provider card preferred.
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training required for behavioral health.
• One year experience as Paramedic in the field or hospital setting preferred.
