We are seeking a registered Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team. As the Pharmacy Technician you will prepare and dispense medications in accordance with standard procedures, maintain accurate pharmacy records, support pharmacists, and contribute to hospital improvement efforts.
Job Summary And QualificationsResponsibilities:
- Count, package, and label unit doses for pharmacist inspection.
- Assist pharmacists with filling orders and preparing labels.
- Perform quality control and auditing to ensure medications are appropriately available to caregivers.
- Prepare IV mixtures and operate automated systems.
- Maintain pharmacy inventory and perform clerical duties.
- Contribute to hospital improvement initiatives and service excellence goals.
- Report significant medical errors or unanticipated outcomes that may result in patient harm.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- State license as a Pharmacy Technician in Florida (required).
- National certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
- Minimum 1‑year experience in a hospital setting preferred.
- Knowledge of pharmacy terminology and prescription drug names.
- Customer service abilities and effective listening skills.
- Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced environment.
- Physical ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
