Job Overview/SummaryThe Phlebotomist III is a skilled healthcare professional responsible for performing advanced blood collection and specimen processing procedures with precision and compassion. This role requires expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections, as well as the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate, efficient, and patient‑centered phlebotomy services across multiple locations while upholding safety and compliance standards.
Responsibilities- Perform blood collection procedures, including venipuncture and capillary draws, on patients of all age groups.
- Handle specimen labeling, storage, and transportation per standard protocols.
- Provide exceptional patient care and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Accurately enter patient and specimen data into electronic systems.
- Maintain inventory and cleanliness of phlebotomy workstations.
- Adhere to safety and infection control procedures.
- Travel between assigned sites as needed to provide coverage at multiple Patient Service Centers (PSC), In‑Office Phlebotomy (IOP), Mobile, and Long‑Term Care locations.
- Support on‑call rotations, weekends, holidays, and overtime assignments as required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health, and safety standards.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric blood draws.
- Strong data entry and computer proficiency.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
- Experience in a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In‑Office Phlebotomy (IOP) environment.
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training background.
- Previous customer service experience in a healthcare or retail setting.
- Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs frequently and up to 40 lbs occasionally (with assistance for heavier loads).
- Proficiency in English and commitment to company policies, including dress code and safety standards.
